HOW WE GOT STARTED
I moved from Fort Worth, Texas to the small hometown of my mom. Paducah Kentucky. I spent about 2 weeks sitting in my mom and I’s new apartment alone with nowhere to go seeing as I had no job and knew no one. After 2 weeks of being bored and feeling myself slipping into a dark hole, I went to my mom and told her I needed friends. She called an old friend from high school who had a son my age and I got to meet him that very night. we became good friends and now we’re in a relationship.
When I found out he liked to skateboard I instantly got the idea to make him a custom skate deck. I have loved art for years, so it was easy for me to think up different things to do for it. I decided I didnt want to mess it up so I asked him a few simple questions and put together a design. I ordered the deck and paid extra to get it in just 2-3 days instead of weeks. It arrived at my house 3 days later at 11:30 am and I got to work. It took me less than 24 hours and the board was complete. I was so happy and couldn't wait to show him. He seemed so happy with it! I was very excited and had a lot of fun designing it, and watching it come to life from sketchbook to deck.
Then a few weeks later he and I went to church camp and our youth pastor has the saying of “ Boifyadon” and it kind of became our church calling. If you heard someone say that you knew they were from our church. So once we got home I kept getting ideas for new boards and Connor kept encouraging me to start a business selling decks and chasing after my passion for it that all I needed was a name. After church camp, I finally had a name “ Boifyadonbaord”.
Now I spend my time designing new boards and even helmets and love every minute of it. I love getting to tell stories through these decks and I'm excited to help show my clients personalities through them.
